- Limited Time Only - Free offer with purchase! Is it a marker that cuts? A cutter that marks? In a word…yes! ColorCutter® is the amazing Painters® Marker with a genuine X-ACTO® blade safely tucked inside. So you can cut free-form shapes and create colorful borders in one smooth stroke. Perfect for scrapbook pages, greeting cards and all kinds of paper crafts.
To activate the blade, place a piece of scrap paper on a cutting mat and poke the tip of the ColorCutter into the paper and mat. Do this so the ColorCutter is perpendicular to the paper. Remember to always use a cutting mat to help avoid possible surface damage.
Now firmly – yet gently – score the paper several times by pulling back. Once you do this the blade has been activated. You will see and feel the ColorCutter begin to cut the paper.
Painters ColorCutter will only work when it is pulled back toward you at the correct angle, similar to the cutting angle of a No. 1 X-ACTO knife. Please reference the image on the side of the ColorCutter package, which shows the correct angle to hold a ColorCutter while using it.
Hold the ColorCutter so that the angle of the marker tip is flush with the paper you are cutting.
Make some trial cuts on scrap. Once you find the correct angle, you will find ColorCutter cuts smoothly and with ease.
When cutting curves, you must rotate the barrel to allow the blade to be in line with the curve. Rotating the paper at the same time also helps to create smooth curves. If you are making a circle in a sheet of paper, you must rotate the ColorCutter so its tip is always pointing in the direction you have already cut – always cut by pulling ColorCutter back toward you at the correct angle.
